We were so pleased with our first experience with Simon Creative Woodworking that we ordered again. This time we purchased an End Grain Cutting Board and once again Simon Creative Woodworking delivered a beautiful project.
Designed solely by the SCW staff, this cutting board is so gorgeous that it was difficult for me to get up the courage to use it.
When I did, I realized that it cleaned up well and looked just as good after use. The hardwood that was used did not starch or discolor.
The project was completed in a timely fashion.
This cutting board is decorative enough to use as a serving piece on a table set for company.

Having seen a recipe box on the Simon Creative Woodworking website, I ordered one for my mess of 50 years of recipe cards. I did not specify the details. They created a masterpiece of functional art using three kinds of wood and brass hardware. I now have a recipe box that is not hidden on a shelf behind a door, but rather sits proudly on a counter for us to enjoy.

I also asked Hiam to restore two large jewelry, or treasure chests made by my father some 45 years ago. The boxes are very intricate and the glue had loosened so that many small pieces of wood were either lost or broken off; the finish was badly worn.
While I do not expect that this will make me more interested in cooking, or turn me into a master chef, it has motivated me to sort through my recipes, remove ones like "(family name) Mush" and Neil's punch (I don't even remember who Neil is). I am motivated to look at my many newspaper clipped recipes to see if they are worthy of being carded, or rather should be discarded.. Sort of Feng Shui of the family recipes.
Hiam was able to restore the boxes, emailing me with photos as the work progressed and asking for input. The final result is that I have been able to pass on to my two daughters on their 45th and 50th birthdays, fully functional and beautiful jewelry boxes made by their grandfather so long ago.
I am more than pleased with Hiam's fine workmanship, aesthetic sense and wonderful communication. He has given me and my family these gift we will treasure forever.

We brought home these gorgeous tables from Simon Creative Woodworking a week ago and have been overwhelmed with compliments ever since (along with some grumbling from the rest of our furniture about how ordinary it now looks in comparison).
They worked with us to conceive an elegant design, suggesting the use of differently colored, highly burnished woods to create the tables' unique patterns.
He stayed in touch throughout the process, refining the design and quickly adapting the construction to accommodate a last-minute request to include shelves at the base. The result far exceeded our expectations: these tables rise to the level of art.

My wife and I would like to commend Simon Creative Woodworking for refurbishing our Hall Tree to a level far beyond what could ever be expected.

We bought the unit at a second-hand furniture flea market “as is” simply because we liked it knowing that it did not present like a showpiece. For years it stood in our entrance hallway garnering complements but clearly in need of a makeover.

Thankfully, Mr. Simon took on the challenge, first disassembling the unit down to its individual wood components, then he sanded and re-stained each piece.
Remarkably Mr. Simon, showing true dedication to his craft, went as far as to travel to a neighboring state to find matching wood to replace pieces that could not be salvaged.

The Hall Tree is now back in our entry way looking like a million bucks, like it’s on loan from a museum that’s above our pay grade.

The "Brooklyn" box you custom designed for the gift I sent to my daughter-in-law was created exactly to the aesthetic effect I wanted. The woods were exquisite and the assembly was perfect.
Now I no longer have to wonder about what to give for birthdays or holidays. The various styles fit so many uses and your willingness to customize is a special advantage.

I inherited a wooden chess set from my father. While the individual pieces were hand made it came in a cardboard box that had become torn and worn through time. When my husband wanted to give me something truly meaningful for our 7th anniversary, he sought out a handcrafted piece from Simon Creative Woodworking.
Earlier in the year during Passover I had commented that it was a shame we only saw our beautiful Israeli seder plate (a wedding gift from his Aunt) once a year at Passover. He had an idea: A display box that would allow us to make the seder plate a part of our home year-round. I just had to write a review about the beautiful wooden recipe box that I got from my daughter.
I know that I am old school, but I have all my recipes on notecards with the names of who gave me the recipe and when. The plastic box I had them in was falling apart and now I have my recipes and all the memories that go with them in a beautiful hinged box that I will treasure forever and pass down to my daughter.
